In order to simplify tedious manual processes and thereby lay off the employees, we developed a device on behalf of the customer that makes it possible to automate the grinding process. In doing so, the room linear robot travels along a predefined route including the curvature of the surface.

The problem

The original grinding process was very time-consuming and tied a lot of the know-how of the workforce to a simple preparatory measure. A remedy could be found here with simple and cost-effective means.


 

The solution

With the igus room linear robot, curved surfaces can also be processed with the grinding machine. The advantage of this system is its insensitivity to dirt and its scalability. With just a few steps, further polishing stations can be set up in next to no time.
