Darius completely dismantled his T5 himself and used some parts from igus®. A multifunctional bedding box was the centrepiece of the conversion. After the van became a bit too small due to offspring, the roof was cut open and a fixed high roof was retrofitted. In addition to the resulting standing height and additional storage space, two additional sleeping places could be created. To ensure that standing height is maintained, a pull-out bed has been fitted using a very low-profile and lightweight drylin N guide. The stability is assured and thanks to the drylin polymer plain bearings there is no rattling noise even after almost 300,000km.
