CRM rotary module

Rotary module – rotation angle of up to 6480 °

The new CRM rotary module is lighter and more compact than static guide troughs. It allows a rotation angle of up to 6480 ° and requires minimal installation space. Various types of cable (power, signal, FOC, pneumatic, oils) can be guided. Rotary unions that are inflexible and susceptible to faults are eliminated, allowing a simple, ready-to-install unit.

Potential application areas:
  • General machine and plant engineering
  • Production plants/Material Handling
  • Machine tools
  • Industrial robots
  • Medical technology
  • Wind turbines
  • Rides/Theme Park
  • Satellite-telescopes/antennas

Tech up

Tech up

  • No slip ring: works with every kind of service
    (electricity, data, air or fluids)
  • Can also be equipped with corrugated tubes
  • Small installation space, very low profile
  • Rotation angle up to 6,480° (depending on system)
  • Resistant to water splashes due to uninterrupted
    guide
Cost down

Cost down

  • Cost-effective in case of repair (replacement of individual
    components possible)
  • Adaptable to technological development due to
simple replacement of the used cable
Sustainability

Sustainability

  • No additional copper components
in the system (apart from copper in cable). Parts are reusable
  • Less raw material required thanks to the option of partial repair  instead of complete replacement
  • Have your energy chain recycled as part of the igus "chainge recycling programme" at the end
of its life cycle. Irrespective of the manufacturer. You can receive a voucher: chainge programme
  • igus supports the circular economy of plastics and invests in chemical recycling

Technical data

Total length: rotary module cable length + FE projection (connection source)

Example: CRM.250.11.01 ➔ Total cable length: 3.3m + 5m (FE projection) = 8.3 metres

Test: clearance height

Test: CRM rotary module and TB12 twisterband clearance height

In its test laboratory, which is the largest in the industry, igus compared the CRM rotary module and twisterband. The two series were evaluated with regard to their clearance height given the same rotation angle (6480°)

The results showed that, given the same rotation angle (6480 ), the CRM rotary module requires a lower clearance height that the twisterband. The rotary module's clearance height is approx. 99mm, while the TB12 twisterband's is approx. 260 mm.
